The School Committee will be announcing at its virtual meeting on Tuesday that we have been able to secure busing for all students who signed up for bus transportation by the June 28, 2024 deadline. This includes the 150 secondary students who initially did not receive bus transportation when the bus lists were finalized a couple of weeks ago.
One additional bus will be added for secondary students, and this bus will be a double run, meaning this one bus will be doing two runs each for the morning and afternoon commutes. Bus postcards for these students now receiving transportation will be mailed this week.
In order to accommodate this additional bus, some students who originally were placed on a bus needed to have their bus routes changed. These students will be receiving their new bus postcards with their updated route information this week and families will also be receiving an email from the district notifying them of the change.
We thank families for their patience and understanding during this process and understand the feelings of frustration and concern as a result of initially not receiving bus transportation.
