Dear SPS Community,
The School Committee is pleased to announce that we unanimously voted to appoint Dr. Thomas Raab as the next Superintendent of the Stoughton Public Schools at a special meeting on August 17, 2021. We are extremely excited to have someone of Dr. Raab’s caliber join our District.
Dr. Raab, currently the Assistant Superintendent of Business and Finance for the Hanover Schools, comes to SPS with a wealth of professional experience having worked as a school business manager, high school principal and school counselor. He is the perfect fit to keep the Stoughton Public Schools moving forward and we look forward to working with him.
We would also like to thank the other finalist for this position, Dr. Andrew Stephens, principal of Lexington High School, and wish him the best in his future endeavors.
The hiring committee put in many hours to complete this search in a short timeframe. Katie Monahan and Mary Shea (administration), Kim Kellogg and Roseanne Rossi (faculty), and Leah Abecassis, Arghavan Schumacher and Marguerite Mitchell (community) joined School Committee Vice Chair Katie Pina-Enokian and myself on the hiring committee and we thank them for their dedication.
Finally, a big thank you to Deputy Superintendent of Schools Jonathan Ford for serving as Interim Superintendent since July 1 and working hard this summer to make sure the District is ready for the upcoming school year. Mr. Ford will continue serving as Interim Superintendent until Dr. Raab’s tenure as Superintendent begins. We will keep you updated on Dr. Raab’s start date.
Sincerely,
Sandra Groppi, Chair
Stoughton School Committee
